What possible benefits are there with baseball bats made from aluminum?
What benefits are there with a wood bat? These are questions that a great deal of baseball players have to think about when they are buying a new baseballor softball bat. Here, the differences between the two will be analyzed so you will be able to make a decision for yourself.

The aluminum baseball bat is hollow, while wooden baseball bats are solid. This is incredibly important because it will make a difference in the weight and the center of gravity for the bat. For a wood bat, in order to make it longer or fatter, the bat must also weigh more. For an aluminum bat, the shell can be made thinner so that the bat doesn't have to be as heavy. Because of this, a bat made from aluminum is more flexible and provides people a lot more options without having to get a heavier bat.

Because wooden bats are solid, a good deal of the weight is in the bat's barrel. This means that the center of gravity will be more removed from the hands. Thealuminum target="_blank"href="">baseball bat is more flexible and as a result, the center of gravity can then be set closer to the hands. Due to the fact that the center of gravity is not as far away from the hands, the aluminum baseball bat is able to have a lower swing weight. The bat, however, may weigh just as much as a wooden baseball bat. Aluminum bats are capable of having a swing weight that is lower, because the weight of the bat is closer to the hands. What that does is make the baseball bat easier to swing instead of the center of gravity and weight being further removed from the hands as it is in a wood bat. Because the bat is easier to swing, the player is able to have a faster bat swing which will result in the ball coming off the bat faster. This is a clear-cut benefit that aluminum bats have over wooden ones.

A disadvantage of the aluminum bat is that the weight
distribution of the bat is more uniform. There isn't as much mass in the aluminum bat's barrel and this makes the bat have a less adequate collision with the ball. The ball generally leaves the bat faster with a bat that is heavier than it does for a bat that's lighter. Only the bat's barrel has an effect on turning the baseball around and propelling the ball back at a high rate of speed. The aluminum bat's barrel will not have the same effect as the wood bat does. The aluminum baseball bat also compresses when the bat collides with the ball. This effect slows down the ball as it comes off the bat. The wood bat will not compress, however, the ball will, and will lose more energy
than a baseball bat made of aluminum.

An advantage of the aluminum bat is that it will be a lot more forgiving. You still will make contact with the baseball and get a decent hit. If you hit the ball too close to the handle with a wood bat, it can easily break. This makes the aluminum baseball bat a lot better for hitting inside pitches. A lot of college baseball players have a rather difficult time making the change to professional baseball, since in college play, they nearly exclusively use aluminum. Pro bats are all wooden and as a
result, the players have a rather hard time getting comfortable with the weight.
